1  TaiPI Data Submission

Welcome to the TaiPI Data Submission Guide.
This document will help you prepare, submit, and publish your research datasets with the Taiwan Polar Institute (TaiPI) Data Repository.

  1. Visit TaiPI Data Submission Portal.
  2. Log in with your ORCID.
  3. Access the data submission form by clicking “Submit Data”.
  4. Fill in the metadata form.
  5. Drag and drop your files.
  6. Select a license.
  7. Click Submit for Review.

Uploading Large or Multiple Files via SFTP

If your dataset is too large to be uploaded through the web interface (e.g., over 2 GB)
or you need to upload many files at once, we recommend using SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).

When to use SFTP:

  • Individual files larger than the web upload limit.
  • Many files that would be slow or impractical to upload one-by-one.
  • Datasets stored in structured folders that must be preserved.

How to proceed:

  1. Prepare your dataset as usual.
  2. Compress folders into .zip or .tar.gz if possible.
  3. Contact TaiPI support ilhamadi@ncu.edu.tw.
  4. Once credentials are provided, use an SFTP client (e.g., FileZilla, scp, or sftp command-line tool) to upload your files.
  5. Notify support when the upload is complete so we can link your files to your dataset submission.
